Chelsie and Mark voted off!

NOOOOoooooooooo! WTF?! Chelsie was my pick to win and along with the Gev leaving the show, this is the saddest departure for me. She had some smoking hot performances especially in the latin dance area. I think her personality might have hurt her. Where Katee didn't seem to have one, Chelsie can come off as a bit bratty. Ahh, too bad so sad.

And Mark was voted off too, another WTF moment. Since Gev left, he was my fave guy. (No, I didn't think Will walked on water). But to see Twitch in the final 2??? Please, he murdered some of those routines. And I hate the gimmicks of his glasses and shirts. I think Cat really helped him with her bit with the teeth. BTW, I love Cat as a host, she's game for anything. I remember the second season of So You Think You Can Dance where she replaced Lauren Sanchez(?) she was murdered on the Fox boards. People said they didn't understand her accent or she had bad outfits. But I always loved her because it seems that she genuinely cares for the dancers. She'll do anything to comfort them.

Anyways, getting back to Twitch, when he was in the bottom 3 last week, he crumpled like he was overcome with emotions. Please, stop with the drama. And not to expect yourself in the bottom 3 seems mighty egotistical.

To tell the truth, this season has been pretty disappointing. There have been some bright spots but they were voted off! Katee, Courtney, Joshua and Twitch in the finals. Cripes. Out of all of them, I am rooting for Courtney. She might not be the best dancer, but she has never screwed up royally and she does have a personality. I can't say the same for the other 3.

So You Think You Can Dance Top 6

Mark and Courtney visually look very nice together. Whereas Gev was a bit short, Mark is the perfect height for Courtney. Nice personalities on them both as well. Okay, getting back to the Viennese waltz, I thought they did a great job. I don't think they are strong single dancers but they make great partners for whoever gets them each week.

There's an ease and comfort in watching Katee and Joshua dance. They are both fabulous dancers and we take for granted that they are going to nail it. It was nice seeing them back again tonight. Good contemporary number.

Thank goodness Chelsie was hot in her red dress because all attention was on her instead of Twitch. When I did glace at Twitch, I thought he was clumsy and just didn't get the groove of the mambo.

Everytime I see a routine that's going to be choreographed by Sonya, I get nervous. Not that she's not good or anything but they aren't exactly vote generators. But I think Mark and Courtney pulled it off this week, with Mark's quirky personality and all.

The paso doble between Joshua and Katee was impressive and dramatic. I don't know what it is with these two. On the one hand, I think their personalities are sort of flat and I'm still wondering if they are winning material but I can never criticise their performance... There's always something there that saves the routine for me. I didn't think Katee was all that convincing as the cape but her dominatrix outfit fit the atmosphere and she was in character. So was Joshua. Not awesome but very entertaining.

The choreography of Tabitha and Napolean or so hit and miss for me. The best performance of the season has been Bleeding Love between Mark and Chelsie. I prefer hip hop when it's heart felt or hard hitting. Soft hip hop or comedy hip hop is just not my cup of tea. I thought this conductor piece was lame.

Kherington and Gev off the show!

Aww, I knew it was going to happen! Like I said in my previous post, since Comfort already got voted off last week and is only back due to Jessica's injury, I feel as though the girls should have gotten a free pass this week. I mean, how unfair is it that Comfort who has consistently been in the bottom 3 get past Kherington? Okay, so Kherington hasn't been spectacular but still all around good enough...

And my fave guy got voted off. I've been dreading that because I knew from the fox.com board, Gev gets the fewest messages on his thread. Like by a lot. People thought Mark or Twitch would go but I knew if Twitch wasn't in the bottom 2, Gev wouldn't be able to beat Mark... Mark has a signature performance in the Tabitha and Napolean routine plus he got the thrashed last night - hence the sympathy vote. Gev was always just there in the middle of the pack. I'll miss him. I really thought that Twitch was going to go home.

Well, that just sucks. Two of the least versatile people got ot stay.

So You Think You Can Dance Top 10

Okay, first off, I know there has been a lot of spoilers in So You Think You Can Dance forums stating that it was a fix for Comfort to replace Jessica King. I think not. If Jessica sulked on being dissed last week by Nigel saying 2 girls should have been off, there's no way that Nigel would take that and bring her back for the tour. I also don't think that Nigel can "force" Jessica to go - if that were the case why didn't he just vote her off last week? I think the injury is legitimate. My solution is that although Comfort gets to dance this week, she should not be allowed to stay in the competition. There's no way that someone who has constantly been in the bottom three gets to stay longer than another girl.

Now onto the show.

Maybe I didn't like the music, maybe I am just mourning the loss of the couple of Gev and Courtney but I wasn't feeling the connection for Courtney and Joshua's bride of Frankenstein routine. It was okay but nothing spectacular.

Wow, how disastrous was the two-step for Kherington and Mark?? For some reason, despite the craptacular performance, it was actually entertaining... It was like a redneck high school ho down.

Unlike the entertainment value of Kherington and Mark's two-step trainwreck, Comfort and Twitch's waltz was bad and boring. It looked cumbersome and lacked finesse.

Okay, next is the cream of the crop with Will and Katee. Even though the judges kissed their ass, it was just okay for me in their Broadway routine. But then again, it's not a dance "genre" that I like. I prefer Broadway numbers in the context of the actual show, not pulled out like that and performed. I have only liked one Broadway routine in all the seasons of So You Think You Can Dance and funnily enough, it was from Katee and Joshua.

For Gev and Chelsie, I thought it was a believable couple. They really are likable which enhanced their dancing a contemporary love story routine. Gev and Chelsie both came from very solid partner pairings but I think they too can get that spark for themselves.

Okay, even though Joshua has got the ass for the rhumba and he and Courtney danced it well, I didn't feel the passion. It was beautiful though. Beautiful choreography, beautiful music... just the pitfalls of a new couple.

For Mark and Kherington's second number, they had jazz. There was no story, the choreography was just about showcasing the technique. Sure, if you want to lose the competition and get no votes! Was that just laziness on the choreographer's part? Mark and Kherington just got hosed tonight with their dance selection this week.

Finally! It was great to see Comfort and Twitch in their element and getting hip hop while not getting dragged down by their non buck partners. After all the slams that Twitch and Comfort got for not being trained dancers... it was nice for them to hit one out of the park. Nice bit of redemption and something they can hang their hat on.

Let me say this right now. No one could have done the pas de deux other than Will and Katee! Okay, so they had a little glitch at the beginning but who cares! It looked so difficult but so beautiful. Individually, Will and Katee might lack personality but when they get an emotional piece that they can sink their teeth into it's just breathtaking.

With all that being said... I think Chelsie right now is my favorite girl... It was a wonderful jive between her and Gev. Yeah, she can make a mannequin look good but Gev was surprisingly there with her. I caught a slight disconnect with their hands but they got it together for some of the turns. It's a tough call between her and Katee but Chelsie gets my vote for a better personality. Before I didn't get her vibe and she disappointed me with the Argentinian tango but she has progressed with more emotion and more characterization of her dance parts. Where Katee shines on slower pieces, I think Chelsie can do it all.

As for who had the best solos... again, Chelsie. It was cute, sexy and it actually looked well choreographed versus freestyle. And it wasn't the same hip hop tricks or contemporary leaps. By being the only ballroom dancer, she stood out.

Also standing out from the crowd was Mark! It was quirky and memorable just like him. Good job because it just might save him from the two disastrous routines he had...

So You Think You Can Dance Top 12

Finally, the time has come to get rid of the dead weight. I'm very happy with those going through to the top 10 for So You Think You Can Dance Season 4. I think the people who deserved to go are now off. It's a shame especially for Comfort though. I don't think she was the best dancer but the way they pimped her at the beginning of the show was stupid. And now they rip her? I did think she didn't gel with Thayne though. It's hard for a new partnership but when they did the hip hop routine, I thought Comfort was concentrating so much on doing "her thing" that she didn't have the chemistry with Thayne. I also didn't believe the connection in the contemporary piece either.

And Jessica is pretty much toast next week. The writing is on the wall for her. She gets abused every night. But I do think she did have a great "Adam and Eve" performance with Will. That alone was enough to save her after a disastrous quick step.

But the hightlights of top 12 was the salsa from Chelsie and Mark. It was the first time that I thought Chelsie was a sexy mature woman. Usually I get the impression that it's just dance steps for her and she doesn't have that earthiness to her. But she owned tonight. I think they are a great couple and compliment each other really well... with Chelsie and her technical strength and Mark with his acting ability. The other Broadway number was good again because of the combination of performance, technical ability and entertainment factor.

As for my favorite couple... Gev and Courtney, I thought they were great on their chacha... But what's up with the whiteness of Gev? And Courtney got overtanned. It was actually distracting. The explorer jazz routine was fun but nothing spectacular.

Okay, onto Twitch and Kherington. God bless Kherington for krumping, lol. She tried SO HARD that you could see the hamster in her wheel turning. Props for effort. The Argentinian tango was disastrous though.

And then we have Joshua and Katee... I am not a ballroom expert but I enjoyed the Viennese waltz despite the judges criticisms. It had performance quality and Joshua and Katee just have this magic to them. I don't know anything about bollywood either but could they luck out on any more on a crowd pleaser? I'm glad that Katee finally got the spotlight of compliments she deserved though.

So with Comfort and Thayne gone, we have the So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 top 10. As I mentioned before, Jessica is pretty much next on the hit list unless she pulls off something SPECTACULAR. There's no more free ride after this. It's going to be interesting to see who goes in the upcoming weeks.

So You Can Think You Can Dance Top 14

Ugh, after a very good week last week, this week to put it bluntly sucked. Maybe it's the fact the dancers had to do two dances each... or that they had routines like jive, west coast swing and waltzes that they couldn't pull off. However, they totally sucked on the the crowd pleasers like the hip hop and the hot ball room dances. In any case, it's going to be a short review this week because I can't bring myself to relive the crapfest again by writing about it.

Only one routine worth mentioning and that was Mia Michael's routine for Katee Shean and Joshua Allen's contemporary piece. I loved the assisted running and the start, stop jump through Joshua's arms.

Other than that, the this week was pretty disastrous or subpar.

As for who got voted off on Thursday, Kourtni Lind and Matt Dorame ran out of rope. I don't think Comfort and Thayne have anymore cushion either.

Chelsie Hightower and Mark Kanemura's signature performance of SYTYCD Season 4

Before I get to the topic of the title, here's my recap of the thoughts of this week's So You Think You Can Dance top 18 episode.

I usually like standard hip hop affair - you know, the hard hitting type with the tricks and such, but the jailbreak from Twitch and Kherington was entertaining. It was nice to see Kherington go ghetto and show she has some flava!

I just love Courtney Galiano and Gev Manoukian. It seems as though they are in the middle of the pack and I don't know why... Usually there's one strong dancer in the couples that just carry the team but Courtney and Gev are evenly matched. Courtney is a stronger dancer but Gev is just cute in his adoration of her and he's a good partner. I thought their rhumba was hot! Not enough hip action from Gev but I don't care, this couple just does it for me!

Next we have Comfort Fedoke and Chris Jarosz' routine from Tyce Diorio. I usually like Tyce's choreography and this particular one was an African jazz routine. The look was interesting but there was no musicality with a heavy metal song. Choreographers need to be careful not to try make a statement with their art and instead make something more approachable to get votes for the sake of their dancers.

For the next number, it was William Wingfield and Jessica King. It was nice that their choreographer Doriana Sanchez was trying to emphasize Jessica in this disco number because Will is just in a class by himself. Jessica should know that she's in trouble - the judges pretty much say to her all the time she wouldn't be there if it weren't for Will. Jessica should have listened to Doriana's advice and taken it more seriously. In any case, I liked their disco number for what it was worth. Nothing spectacular but good.

I'm going to make the same comment for Kourtni Lind and Matt Dorame's dance number as I did for Comfort and Chris... Weird and difficult to understand routines will not get votes. This piece was choreographed by Sonia, a new choreographer to the show. I think she should have opened the gates to something with wow factor.

Moving on, we have Chelsea Traille and Thayne Jasperson. I thought it was a disastrous routine. I thought it was supposed to be a quick step but it was not quick at all. All night I've been talking about a crowd pleaser. I think the music was good and bubbly and it could have been out of the ball park and had they been able to pull it off.

Finally, we save the best routines for last... Chelsie Hightower and Mark Kanemura's routine of Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon. Okay, folks, we have our first signature performance of So You Think You Can Dance Season 4! This is an unbelievable hip hop performance. I'm not used to this style of lyrical hip hop but the gestures, the pops were so in sync and fed the story. I beliiiiiiiieeeeeeved the emotions of the stay out home housewife and the workaholic husband. This could go down as the best routine of the season.

Next, we also had a very good samba performance by Katee Shean and Joshua Allen. Katee might have had a problem feeling sexy but I believed it from the start when she shot her leg out on Josh' shoulder. I thought it was a good performance but it went in and out for me. For parts of the routine it seemed as though they were a bit slow and then they caught up to the music. But the best part of the dance was Josh' ass. He really has good hip movement on this.

Overall, a very good night with memorable performances!

*Updated, Chelsea Traille and Chris Jarosz got voted off. Not surprised as Comfort has been protected all season. And Thayne does have more personality than Chris.

Twitchington love!

Okay, so I know I'm a week late with the So You Think You Can Dance top 20. To be perfectly honest, the top 20 performance left me really flat last week. I really wasn't vibing with anyone and I thought it was a very week way to start off the So You Think You Can Dance voting round.

Last week, the pairing of Rayven Armijo and Jamie Bayard got toasted. Pretty much it was a non event for me. Canon fodder.

But after watching the So You Think You Can Dance top 18, I'm more hopeful. There has been a lot of love for Twitch and Kherington Payne and at first I wasn't a fan, but now I am after their performance of Jean-Marc Genereaux's choreography of the Waltz dedicated to his daughter. It was beautiful and the voting might be helped by Mia Michael's harsh criticism of Kherington smiling too much. It was meant to be uplifting, Mia! Lighten up!

And another stand out performance for the night was Joshua Allen and Katee Shean. I am not a big fan of Broadway dances because I find them to be very cheesy and out of context when not framed within any context. But I have to say that I loved the entertainment factor! Bravo and they captured all the gestures and exaggerations perfectly!

So those were my favorite performances of the evening for the So You Think You Can Dance top 18. Other honorable mentions go to Courtney Galiano and Gev Manoukian. First off, Courtney Galiano is just beautiful! Second, Gev is so sweet on her that they make such a cute couple. Their dance was so simple but universal about love. It was very believable for me.

I also really liked Chelsie Hightower's and Mark Kanemura's Argentinian tango. Mark was hot! But if I have a little criticism with Chelsie was that she wasn't as hot as Mark. She was great in her technique but she wasn't as intense as Mark in his passion. Maybe it's her age that she can't pull that lust off or the fact in her interview that she was always saying that Mark's like her brother... but it could have been hotter.

And on a similar vein, I thought Susie Garcia and Marquis Cunningham lacked something in the hotness factor too. Very disappointing as the salsa is Susie's expertise. Maybe it was the pressure that she should be in her element, but their were elements in which she was off tonight. Sometimes it was hot, then it turned cold. It was like she was concentrating too much and wasn't grinding it out. Maybe it was due to Marquis not partnering her right. I think this couple is in real danger. More so in Susie's case because I don't know how she can win a dance off.

My suspicion of the other couple in danger would be Chelsea Traille and Thayne Jasperson. It was just boring, I didn't like the music and it wasn't banging or interesting enough to lead off. It was pretty forgettable.

And the rest of the dancers... William Wingfield and Jessica King, Matt Dorame and Kourtni Lind and Comfort Fedoke and Chris Jarosz acquitted themselves well tonight. Very solid performances if not a home run. Hopefully, they will be safe.

My prediction of who will go home? Susie Garcia and it will be a toss up amongst the guys depending on their solo.

I will await for tomorrow's results!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4, Top 20 Finalists!

After enduring some awful auditions for So You Think You Can Dance Season 4, Las Vegas week has finally arrived! There were some shockers as the heavily featured dancers did not make the cut! But before I spill the beans, let's recap some of the Las Vegas highlights.

Right off the bat, Robert Muraine, the insane popper from the first episode of So You Think You Can Dance bowed out. He couldn't even get through hip hop. It's hard to say whether or not it was a good decision... he certainly wasn't versatile enough, but just stay in for the face time, ya know?

Another to go bye bye quick was Claire Callaway. I'll say it before and I'll say it again. Girl should have waited another year to go back to SYTYCD auditions. It was just too soon and she didn't stand a chance in hell. She was over rated in her season anyway, now that I look back on old So You Think You Can Dance episodes.

So those were the pretenders. Others who deserved to make the top 20 that didn't make it are:

Kelli Baker! What a shocker. She's the girl whose mother is the High School Musical choreographer. Despite this, I believe she could have gotten in on her own merit. But, a hella lot of tough competition for the girls.

Sheila Kaiser also didn't make the cut. She's the student/dancer. You wonder how good she can be if she wasn't majoring in genius.

For the guys, I was surprised to see Evan Kasprzak go. I thought his Gene Kelly bit was great.

But the biggest shocker of all was Brandon Bryant not making the So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 top 20. Wow! But seeing as he's only 18, maybe they are saving him for another year? I mentioned that if he'd have any personality, he'd be the winner. Maybe he needed to be more camera ready.

Nigel Lythgoe always says that So You Think You Can Dance is about finding America's most favorite dancer not, most talented dancer. If that's the case, I hope the cast has plenty of charisma as I am not in agreement with a lot of the choices.

Those who already got face time and were featured who made it include:

Courtney Galiano, Chelsea Hightower, Susie Garcia, Kourtney Lind, Joshua Allen, Twitch, Kherington Payne, Katee Shean, Gev Manoukian, Matt Dorame, William Wingfield, Thayne Jesperson.

I couldn't quite the last names of these unfeatured dancers but they include:

Chelsea, Rayven, Jamie, Chris, Jessica King, Mark, Marquis Cunningham, Comfort.

Since they cut my favorites, I really don't know what to expect from this cast. There are still some extremely strong girls but it remains to be seen whether or not their personality can shine through along with their dancing.

I'm surprised that there is no red hot ballroom male dancer though. In fact, there used to be a few latin/ballroom dancers. Where'd they all go? I wonder if it's more of a departure this time around with the emphasis on solos.

We shall see what this year of So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 brings. Stay tuned on Fox and here to find out!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4, Milwaukee auditions

This week's So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 auditions were a mixture of dance auditions from Milwaukee and elsewhere. I guess they didn't want to show bad auditions anymore so they decided to show us the Las Vegas bound dancers who weren't already featured to give the audience some prep time to like them.

The people who made it to the next round of Las Vegas on this episode of So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 is:

Michael Kim is a great popper who had previously tried out. It's really good to see that these self taught dancers take their craft seriously to get dance lessons. He said he took ballet after he got cut two years ago. I'd love to see old So You Think You Dance Dance episodes to see how he's improved.

When I first saw Katee Shean and Natalie Reid feature piece, I thought oh now, another dumb BFF pair. But they turned in a couple of strong performances and I was pleasantly surprised.

Janette Manrarra and Romulo Villaverde are a pair of salsa dancers. Great soccer trick were the guy literally bounces her head on his foot! Other than that, there salsa was just okay. Janette is actually a much better dance than he is so she got through but Romulo didn't.

I can't see a tap dancer doing well on So You Think You Can Dance. It's just not the right platform but you never know. Bianca Revels just might prove me wrong that a tapper.

I like male dancers who are suave, and understated. Evan Kasprzak did a Gene Kelly bit with a fedora and that was so elegant. You knew he was powerful but he held it in. It's such a nice contrast as opposed to guys always showing off.

Kourtni Lind is a contemporary dancer who did really well and had interesting choreography. This year, the girl's competition is super tough so it will be interesting to see if she makes it.

Susie Garcia is the type of teacher that you can see get in trouble with the young male students. Maybe that's a bad stereotype but she flaunted it with a school girl look in her auditions. She squeaked through the choreography and got to Vegas. I guess the show needs sex appeal.

Next, comes the lesson that costuming is very important in dancing. Rebecca Hart had been rejected in a previous So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 audition. But persistence pays off and she got into Vegas by changing her costume and reauditioning!

Phillip Courter's story was about how he came to the auditions with his friend but she got injured. It was quite touching but that doesn't negate that Phillip's audition was only good and not spectacular.

Lizz Plott is another tap dancer who I question for So You Think You Can Dance. If she makes it to top 20, she's cannon fodder.

And that's it for the preliminary auditions. On the next episode for So You Think You Can Dance episode, we get to see who makes it to top 20 finalists!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 Charleston and Washington D.C. auditions

Tonight's SYTYCD Season 4 episode for the Charleston and Washington D.C. auditions was certainly an improvement from last night. Better personality, better dancers and more wow factor. Let's get started and here are the dancers who got sent through to Vegas for So You Think You Can Dance 2008.

Sheila Kaiser has the unique ability to make people happy by watching her dance. I felt joy when I watched her dance. There is not many times I can say that. I mostly feel entertained, energized, or impressed... but it's a rare individual to make me feel actual joy. I hope Sheila Kaiser can go far in the competition.

I don't know if Jeremiah Hughes is deep or really cocky but I'm leaning towards cocky. What was that bit about spiritual divinity? Whatever. He has some big moves, good lines but he also screwed up in his audition. I'm thinking this is another Blake McGrath from Season 1 of So You Think You Can Dance - a less talented version but with the same cocky personality.

Anthony, Antwane Hart were a pretty cute twin team. It was a funny audition where Anthony had screwed up but Antwane impressed so much they brought Anthony for a second look. Can't see them going for though.

Courtney Galiano performed very well for her audition. Beautiful girl and beautiful performer. There's a wealth of girl talent this year and it's getting to be difficult to tell them apart without a good backstory. Her grandmother seems nice though.

Season 2 contestant Claire Callaway came back after injuring herself in her season and having a baby. Wow, I was not impressed. She worked it like a stripper in her audition. If it wasn't for her "name" she would haven't have made it through the choreography - it was that bad with her posing and prancing. And while she redeemed herself in choreography, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her... It seemed like she lacked so much confidence and was apologizing/regretting having her kid. I hope she doesn't feel like that in real life or it's going to mess up her daughter's head later. I think Claire Calloway should have taken another year off. She's only 20. She has plenty of years to get her personal and personal life together.

Megan Campbell is another good dancer if nothing spectacular. Very nice and the potential is there.

I felt Markus Shields performance was very heart felt. It was a nice tribute to his mother and she would be proud.

Wow. Just wow for Brandon Bryant. The boys haven't impressed so far in the auditions except for some trick specialists but Brandon Bryant is the complete package. Might have to check his ego out the door though but if everything goes according to plan, I think he's final 2.

A special mention to Anthony Bryant. I enjoyed his dancing. It certainly was an improvement from his ribbon routine from season 1 of So You Think You Can Dance. Not only was I surprised that he didn't go straight through to Vegas, but he got cut from the choreography as well! I mean, he's certainly loads better than some of the dancers they passed through and he's a guy - something they are sorely missing from this year's crop. Perhaps they are still wondering about his masculinity but I think he still deserved a shot at Vegas. But after that melt down, perhaps Nigel and company was right. But then again, it might have been for more camera time. I would like to see him audition again next year, lol.

So there you have it for So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 Charleston and Washington D.C. auditions. Till next week!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 in Salt Lake City and Dallas

It is week 2 of So You Think You Can Dance Season 4. I don't know about you, but I wish they would hurry up with the auditions! I think prior to So You Think You Can Dance 2008, we had an appetite to watch the bad dancers because we couldn't believe anyone could be so bad. But come on already! It's So You Think You Can Dance Season 4! Along with American Idol, we've had enough of the same attention whores who go through the rounds of reality tv auditions! This week's rejects weren't even that funny.

In any case, I just wanted to highlight who got a golden ticket for the second week of auditions for So You Think You can Dance 2008. Their names are:

Chelsie Hightower is a pretty face with a lot of talent! Great backstory as well coming from a family who didn't have much and her brother coming through with the monthly dance tuition. The public will eat it and I can see her going far. Hopefully she lives up to the expectation of a humble girl next door and not turn diva.

Like a lot of dancers, especially in the break dancing style, they don't make it beyond the choreography round. Gev Manoukian had tried out 2 years ago, but choreagraphy was his stumbling block. It's good that he went to actual dance classes to become more versatile and came back for So You Think You Can Dance 2008. He's a very unique trained breakdancer now.

Lindsey Judkins performed well in her audition. Good enough to get a ticket straight through to Las Vegas but no wow factor so far. Still, they chose to show case her in the episode so maybe she's a dark horse.

Kelli Baker has a lot to live up to seeing as her mother is Bonnie Story, a famous choreographer for High School Musical. That's a lot of weight to live up to so I'm glad she didn't suck. Really, one of the best dancers in So You Think You Can Dance Season 4.

And if we want to talk about someone who has an interesting back story, it certainly would be Ryann Race. The dude is a strip club DJ. I'm sure a lot of guys would consider that a dream job. And apparently, the guy can dance! The best way to describe his moves would be Reed Richards: Mr. Fantastic.

If So You Think You Can Dance was auditioning for boy bands and girl bands, look no further than the perfect model white teeth and good looks of Matt Dorame and Thayne Jasperson! Okay, that wasn't quite fair as these guys do have talent, but Barbie twins Kortney Pearson and Michelle Stringham probably won't get out of Vegas.

Oh, and add Paige Jones into that Barbie doll category. Cannon fodder.

Joshua Allen is a good popper. Unforutnately, we've seen it before and probably done better in previous years. We need something new for So You Think You Can Dance Season 4.

Arielle Coker was a beautiful dancer, too bad her partner didn't make it through. I thought his partner work deserved enough to get him through compared to the other male dancers who got through.

That's it for So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 auditions in Salt Lake City and Dallas. To be totally honest, I thought it was a boring week. Only show stopper I see are Chelsie Hightower and Kelli Baker. I look forward to seeing them for the rest of So You Think You Can Dance 2008.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 Premiere

I just finished watching the first episode of So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 on Fox. It was a compilation of auditions from Charleston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Salt Lake City.

The first episode of SYTYCD Season 4 was an 2 hour episode and here were the highlights:

I've seen Devin Oshiro before on America's Most Talented Kids. She definitely has talent and can dance which would be why she got a gold ticket right off the bat.

Jonathan Anzalone from Italy is hot but what a manho! There are just some moves that some men shouldn't do and that includes putting your leg behind your head. Dude could probably lick himself.

Sex (David) is back for his third year. Yeah, he's good for a few laughs but I hate the righteous indignation of the judges. If they hate him so much, then Nigel (being the producer) would cancel his screen time from the more deserving dancers.

Twitch from season 3 who was the last guy to get cut in Vegas is also back. To be totally honest, his audition disappointed. He was smooth but didn't have the wow factor. If he makes it to the live show, he'll be cannon fodder.

Phillip Chbeeb (rubber arms boy) also made a returned visit from last year and got through the choreography round is off to Las Vegas.

William Wingfield
was cool in his audition. It was a tad pretentious but I dug it because it made a statement.

Erika Gee
showed that she's a beautiful dancer and got a ticket to Vegas. Let's see if she's got the goods to go into the voting rounds.

Leonidas Proskurov and Aliona Vetrenko were smoking hot. A ballroom dancer will never win this show but when they are in their element, their skill just blow away all the wannabe amateurs.

Another ballroom pair, Ricky Sun and Asuka Kondoh got their tickets to Vegas but I seriously doubt we'll be seeing more of them. Just not memorable enough.

Kherington Payne
reminds me of Keira Knightley from Bend it like Beckham. I think it was definitely the IT factor because I don't think she had the technique to go straight through to Vegas. We'll see though.

Robert Muraine had an unbelievable audition! Dude is just sick, sick, sick! His whole body must be double jointed.

So to recap, known ticket holders to the Vegas round:

Devin Oshiro, Twitch, Phillip Chbeeb, William Wingfield, Erika Gee, Leonidas Proskurov and Aliona Vetrenko, Ricky Sun and Asuka Kondoh, Kherington Payne, and Robert Muraine.

Good start for So You Think you Can Dance Season 4!

Welcome to a new season of So You Think You Can Dance Season 4!

Whoo! So You Think You Can Dance is back for 2008, season 4! This has always been my favorite dance show with it's combination of judges, voting and dance versatility of the YOUNG generation. They know where it's at.

Welcome back Cat, Nigel, et al! I might not always agree with you but you guys are entertaining.

Can't wait for a great new year of cheering, frustration and more cheering, lol!

On my blog, you'll find my biographies of my favorite dancers, pictures and whatever else I can dig up.
